Did you know that the first battery of Katyusha rocket launchers was used in action against the Germans on 15 July 1941? The Katyusha was one of the Red Army's most closely guarded secrets. The Russians have stated that Katyushas were only fired by NKVD or police troops. No American or British observer was allowed to see it in action, even after some had fallen into German hands.
