Editorial

by Paul Darnell

Some said it wouldn't last. Some hoped it wouldn't (who said that?). But I am happy to say that all goes well and welcome to issue 3.

A slightly lighter issue this time concentrating on just one action. Sieges are normally not that popular in wargaming, not enough action, a bit too static. But I thin you will find within this issue more than enough ideas to have building those scaling ladders and hotting up the boiling oil. (That's medieval sieges isn't it?).

A note about advertisers - Colonial Conquest is to be around for a long time (hurray). The need for advertisers within the magazine is not crucial, but is most welcome and I shall endeavour to encourage those whose products will benefit the reader, ie. colonial products.

I ask you all PLEASE mention Colonial Conquest whenever you enquire about a product mentioned in the mag. With regards to the insert from Greenhill Books and Battle: Then and Now in this issue, could you write on it as seen in Colonial Conquest? Many thanks.

Lastly, for those awaiting a reply to a letter, I apologize. I am getting married in June, and my normal life is shattered. The wedding list will be sent out to all subscribers soon.

Nearly forgot. I know the text on the battle Pictorial in Issue 2 was back to front. Blame the printers who surprisingly didn't know the difference between a kraal and a laager.
