Zulu Wars Audio Video

The new audio series of video tapes by Cromwell Productions looks interesting, one covering the Zulu War. Narrated by Robert Powell, the video uses film footage and recent reconstructions, so that must mean Zulu and Zulu Dawn. As yet I have not seen it, W.H. Smith are to stock it but as yet my local store has yet to realise its importance and stock it. Providing it's not like the recent sex education videos out now, where just when you get to a good bit somebody starts talking and spoils the moment (so I have been told!), it should be worth a purchase. Comments please.

Rorke's Drift

There are rumours afoot that some pictures were taken of the Mealie Bag Barricades, showing some dead Zulu warriors, taken directly after the battle. The pics are supposed to have been taken by C.N. Newman, the journalist with Chelmsford's column. As he makes no mention of taking any pics in his book, it is doubtful. However, there is a picture showing Chard standing near the cattle kraal with Zulu weapons still around which would suggest that pictures were taken fairly recently after the action. I shall keep you posted.
