Here are some updates to things that have happened or will be happening in the NHMGS universe. Breakthrough - Nov. 7, 8, and 9 This was the last jointly hosted event by NHMGS and the Trumpeter Society of Vancouver, B.C. It was also the site of the North American Society of Ancient Miniature Warfare DBM tournament. Attendance was down, but those who were on hand had a good time. With his homecoming to the Northwest, we have returned the Breakthrough baton to its founder, Ed Teixeira. Next year Breakthrough will be held in Everett at the Quality Inn off 1-5. At this time it will be a Friday/ Saturday affair on a weekend in October. The exact date is not set at this time, and will not be known until July. We wish Ed all the best, and ho~e that as many folks as possible will turn out to support this new venture. NHMGS Game Day - Nov. 22 at Bruce Meyer's house Bruce opened his fabulous gaming emporium for a game day. The morning started with a David Sullivan's Pig Wars game, Tim McNulty's 25mm American Civil War, and a Sky Galleons of Mars game hosted by yours truly. After lunch we had a 25mm Viking naval game using a modification of the Pig Wars rules. Even though my fabulously painted ship was attacked by a sea monster, it was still fu n. About 25 people attended, amused themselves with the games and enjoyed Bruce's great hospitality. They were also treated to the eyepopping experience of Bruce's gaming palace, with figures in any scale for any period. It gives me chills. Harborstorm - -Feb. 7 & 8 at Bruce Meyer's house Harborstorm is a Northwest regional DBM tournament with national standing in NASAMW. Bruce has hosted it for several years and has drawn participants throughout Washington and British Columbia. Experts and new players are welcome. Interested parties should contact Bruce at brucemeyer@ worldnet. att. net for further information. NHMGS also sponsors this event. NHMGS Auction - Feb. 28 at Game Matrix We're taking a slightly different tack With this year's auction. It will be a combination silent and live auction. The live auction will be for painted miniatures only. We will have four tables for gaming. Chris Ewick at Game Matrix in Tacoma was kind enough to provide us with the space. Sellers should plan on being at Game Matrix by 10:00. Salute - March 12th-14th Salute is the annual convention of The Trumpeters Club in Burnaby B.C. It is a mixed convention of historicals and non-, but always some great games, wonderful gamers, and some nice looking projects. Its always a good idea to support the efforts of our neighbors to the north ... especially if we want them to support ours. Information about Salute is found at www. trumpeterclub.com. I hope to see you there. Enfilade - May 28-30 Olympia Red Lion We are in a new site in a city further away than I would like, but it's a nice place and you'll like it. It's our flagship event, and I hope you can attend.
