The "Executive Council" (The Faithful) of the Northwest Historical Miniatures Gaming Society met on the 5th of January, 2002. The following are the results of that five hour meeting: 1. Breakthrough 2002 will be in Surrey, B.C. (same site as 2001). The date will be announced as soon as the Convention Director can negotiate a weekend with our venue host. 2. NHMGS has negotiated a permanent site (well, foreseeable future) for the annual Auction. The Auction will rotate between American Eagles Seattle, and American Eagles Tacoma. This is quite generous on their part. Space in both places will be a bit cramped, therefore NHMGS will not have gaming on the Auction day. We will only be there for the Auction. This is a necessary departure from our tradition. The Auction starts at 1pm on February 9 at American Eagles in Tacoma. 3. NHMGS will be connecting more closely with gaming groups in Eastern Washington and Portland. Our purpose is to sponsor NHMGS all over the Northwest. Toward that end we will be increasing the roll of the VP in this effort. Greg Maggard will be working to get the VP-East up to speed, Norris Hazelton will be working to find a VP-South, and Kevin Smyth will be working to find a VP-Central. We have highly qualified individuals in mind and we hope we can convince them to work with us in this effort. Unfortunately, we do not have a person in mind for VP-Southeast (basically the Tri-Cities Yakima area). If anyone has a suggestion or a nomination, please contact me with the information. 4. The most significant and exciting change has occurred in our organizational structure. Each of the regional Vice-Presidents will be given slightly revised responsibilities and be empowered to accomplish them.
B. If somebody is new to the area and wants to find a gaming group NHMGS can refer them to the appropriate VP. The VP will refer them to clubs/gamers in their area. C. The vice presidents will sponsor one NHMGS game event per year. NHMGS will provide resources in support of that game event. That game event will be coordinated through Steve Allen, who has graciously "volunteered" to be our Special Events Coordinator. These events are not intended to be large complex affairs, we are simply hoping to put the hobby in front of the public. The purpose would be to showcase the hobby, find *new" gamers to the area, and (if we're lucky) recruit new people to the hobby. 5. NHMGS has created new positions of responsibility they are as follows:
Special Projects Coordinator Dave Schueler: These will be all NHMGS efforts that are not major events or that are one time occurrences. Advertising Coordinator - Greg Maggard: Greg will coordinate our advertising of all of our efforts. Hopefully, we can provide advertising well in advance of our events. These positions will be further defined as circumstances dictate. 6. The Treasurer will be moving the checking account to a bank in Everett. The account currently resides in Fife, very inconvenient for him. 7. Kevin Smyth provided an Enfilade 2002 update. So far, so good. 8. Hopefully, in the next Citadel, Steve Allen will be able to post a list of all of our events and the POC for each one. 9. Attendence: Norris Hazelton, Kevin Smyth, Steve Allen, Bill Stewart, Dick Larsen, Mark Serafin, Russ Bauder, Terry Sawchenko, Dave Schueler, and Greg Maggard. Thanks to all who attended. It was an excellent meeting all around.
