The Museum of Flight was quite successful. I was only there for a few hours, but got to see more of the Museum. My big surprise was while looking at a Spitfire and a Corsair next to each other - the Spitfire is dwarfed by the Corsair, I didn't expect such a size difference. Live and learn. I am told that the lines at the border are long and tedious. Those of us who are going to Breakthrough 2001 will have to bring some reading material for the long wait. This is inconvenient, but serves a necessary purpose. The culprits aren't the border guards, our hobby clubs, or our governments. The culprits are the men, blinded by hate, who took so many innocent lives on September 11. Their hatred should not deny us our freedom to conduct our daily lives as we wish. Attendance at Breakthrough is voluntary, but I hope as many Americans as possible will endure the long waits at the border. By doing so, we say that in our little corner of the world we will not be intimidated by hate and its merchants. Steve Puffenberger is working feverishly on finding an auction site in the greater Seattle area. John Kennedy of Fantastic Games is going to host a DBA tournament in the near future. For details check their website, or contact him directly. The goal of the tournament will be to have fun and play some games. The prizes won’t be real serious. This is just a trial run to see what's involved, test the format, and evaluate the response. It's low intensity and just for fun. I look forward to seeing you all at Breakthrough in November.
