Conventions

by Mark Serafin

Well, I hope everyone had a good Enfillade. I certainly did - I actually got to play in a couple of games. Since Kevin Smyth's write-up (see page 11) covered it so well, I will only add that the club made a profit of about $1100 from the event, so in that respect it was a success.

The status of Breakthrough is in doubt at this point. This year's convention is being jointly sponsored by NHMGS, Columbia Games and the Trumpeter Club. A suitable site was found, but apparently the site management began putting unreasonable restrictions on the event. The situation has gotten so ridiculous that the organizers are looking for a new venue. I hope to have definite word in the next Citadel, but until then those of you with internet access will want to keep tabs of the NHMGS Yahoo egroups mailing list* for news.

Remember, if you are an NHMGS member and have a gaming-related business, I will include a copy of your business card for nothing. That's free advertising, which will be seen by the kind of people most likely to buy stuff from you. So send in those cards!
