Welcome to 2001. I hope the past Holiday Season was a good one for one and all. As you will note elsewhere in this issue, the weekend for Enfilade has been moved back a week, into June 2001. This was an unavoidable difficulty and out of our control. However, as a result of the Hotel SNAFU (and we all know the real meaning of that) we are booked and locked in for the next 5 years on Memorial Day weekend at the Hotel. This will allow NHMGS costs to be stabilized, projected, and planned. Our Auction has been moved to American Eagles Tacoma for the 10th of February. We have chosen that site because of costs. The Phinney Ridge Community Center would have cost us $385.00 for the time we wanted. The PRC Center changed their rates and they almost doubled. I'm sorry, but that was just too much. The Tacoma site may be a bit smaller, but it is free. Elsewhere, in this Citadel you will see the announcement for the Tournament that Bruce Meyer will be hosting. If you have any interest in Ancients you should consider attending this event. Even if you don't play well, this may be an opportunity to see a lot of armies and a lot of battles. It could inspire you to finish a project or start one. At the last NHMGS meeting, the idea of an annual Citadel article excellence award was floated. Not much discussion occurred, but I think the idea has some merit and I will pursue it a bit more. If you have any thoughts, please let me know. Please, mention the Enfilade 2001 date change to all other gamers you contact. The Enfilade 2001 date is a departure from our normal routine and we want as many people as possible to know. Also, now is the time to begin planning your Enfilade 2001 events. With a little luck, we should have flyers and event forms available at the Auction in February. I look forward to seeing you at the auction.
