A couple quick thoughts. I'm only five months into my term and it certainly has been exciting so far. The opportunity to display our hobby at the Museum of Flight was very successful. Of course, we didn't have people flocking to join our Society, but many people walked away with our flyers. Virtually everyone who stopped by was astounded by the painted figures on display (we had the good sense to use Tim's figures.) People were genuinely interested and impressed by our hobby. The games on display were well received and I saw many people admiring them. I certainly hope we get invited back, because I didn't get to see as much of the Museum as I'd have liked. If you missed this event, you missed a very good time. Remember Breathrough in November. If you can put on a game or volunteer some time as a worker we'd appreciate the help. The success of this event is dependent upon the volunteer help we get. Don't be shy, just step right up and we'll find work for you. The Points of Contract for events or work are Dick Larsen or Bill Stewart. Our annual Auction will be in February. We will determine a final date and site very soon. People are examining possible sites and the costs. We will carefully balance cost versus location. I'm sure we could find an inexpensive location in Royal City, but no one would show up. At this time we are considering Seattle or Tacoma as the most likely sites. We have very good miniatures conventions in the Pacific Northwest. However, these conventions can always use help. There are a multitude of tasks as well as events that are required for a successful miniatures convention. Any time that you have to spare for the hobby would be most welcome. Thanks and Good Gaming.
