Well, here it is the last issue of the Citadel for the year 2000. The next issue will begin the new millennium (yes, it starts in 2001, not 2000). So, obviously, it's time for either a party or commitment to a State-run institution. Or both. The game day at the Museum of Flight went well, from what I've heard, with lots of interest generated and many promotional fliers given away to museum goers and staff. Indeed, I've heard that the staff showed a great deal of interest. All this implies that they will be letting us do game days there again. So we may have a regular venue where we can show of our hobby to the unenlightened masses. Breakthrough happens on the first weekend of November this year, in the same place where it has always been held. I have included preregistration and event proposal forms in this issue for you convenience. If the U.S. Postal Service is being kind to us this month, you should have a couple of weeks to get these in to the convention director. Breakthrough needs events, and events need players! So by all means, copy the forms (or tear them out), fill them in and get them in the mail. Time's a- wasting! As much as Breakthrough needs your support, so too does the Clta-' del. Articles have been few and far between of late, and issues have been noticeably thin. I like to think we have one of the better HMGS chapter newsletters (and you know how objective I am), as it usually includes great history and gaming articles. So if you've been thinking about contributing something, now would be a great time to finish it up and send it in to me. Every one of us has a ton of specialized knowledge about gaming that would interest other gamers. Whether it be an historical piece about your (current) favorite period, what new goodies a certain manufacturer has just come out with, or how you go about making those pieces that everyone else oohs and ahs' over, you know something that other gamers want to. So write it up and share it with US. You might notice that this is the second issue in a row that includes an article about the passing of a member of the Northwest gaming community. I suppose this is proof of the 'greying of the hobby' phenomenon, Still, it's sad to have to include this kind of article. So stop dying, you guys. After all, don't you have a ton of lead to paint before you go?
