I would like to first give thanks to all the game presenters at Enfilade! Without their hard work to present games, any convention would be a total failure, especially Enfilade! I again thank you, as do the many attendees. I would also like to give thanks to all those who helped get Enfilade! organized. Without your help, it would be more chaotic than it already is. I would like to give thanks to our attending vendors, who always relieve us of our money, but also give Enfilade some great support. Enfilade! 2000 was a success, and a time for change, with the election of a new NHMGS President - Norris Hazleton. With the support of the Board of Directors, the membership and a few key people, Norris' job will be easy & successful. After six years of organizing Enfilade! myself, with help, I felt it was time to step down and take a breather from the chaos. Kevin Smyth will now become the new Enfilade! Director. Kevin has been involved with Enfilade! from the start. I'm sure he will do a good job, given the kind of help I've had these past few years. This year's convention saw about 250+ people in attendance, with an increase in the number of vendors over previous years. There were over 80 games scheduled over the three days. Most of these games were visually appealing. I've noticed an increase over the years that game presenters striving to achieve visually appealing games. This is a great trend for the hobby, I hope this continues as it seems to give our hobby credibility. There were a wide variety of games to experience. Ian Croxall's colonial games were quite a sight, for which he received the 'Best of Show' award. Paul Hannah's Ploesti air game was stunning, with all the detail he put into the game. A 25MM Pirate game was also fabulous, with scratch- built ships, a fort and terrain brought down from Canada by Rick Stevens. The 15mm Gettysburg game was also a sight to behold. WW2 games seemed to dominate this year with scales from 6mm to 25mm being presented. I personally ran two 25mm WW2 games which went very well, with most players having fun. I'm sure many of you left with fond memories of the games you participated in, as there were many great games this year. We had an increase in Canadians attending Enfilade!, as they had an increase in Americans attending their convention, Salute. This is great to see, all of us supporting each others' conventions. I hope this continues. Now that Enfilade! 2001 is a year away and I no longer am NHMGS President or Enfilade director, I can put my efforts into my gaming. I intend to do more gaming in the South Sound, closer to my home in Puyallup. I will be organizing a new Historical Miniatures club - The South Sound Grenadiers. The club will be for those gamers interested in supporting gaming by way of painting figs or hosting games. We will meet at American Eagles in Tacoma every Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm. I intend to have the first Saturday of every month as a 'how-to' day. This day will be set aside to show interested gamers the various techniques that we and others use for painting figures, basing them, making buildings and terrain, etc. This day will also be used for working on any club projects we might have undertaken as a group. The other Saturdays will be used for gaming 25MM AWI, 25MM western gunfight, 25 & 15MM ACW, 25MM & 15MM WW2, 25MM U.S Cavalry & Indians, ACW Ironclads, WW1 1/72 Aircraft, WW2 Naval, 20mm Vietnam, 25mm ECW and whatever else the club can stir up in the way of historical gaming. I have an email list up at egroups.corn (http://www. egroups.com). Follow the path: games-miniatures- clubshistorical-SouthSoundGrendiers to keep informed of upcoming game days and activities. My goal is to promote historical miniatures in the south sound area and to get gamers painting and hosting games for the conventions and on club game days. I am sure it will go well as it has already been met with a lot of positive responses. I have the first game day scheduled for June 17, with plenty more to follow. I will keep all informed as the club progresses.
