Paul Heiser Models

1/87th Scale WWII

By Bob Seagle

On March 6,1999, Tim McNulty and I went to a 1/87th scale vehicle and equipment club convention in Vancouver, Washington. I thought that if we found at least one person selling WW II stuff that the trip would have been worth our while. Boy, did we hit pay dirt.

We ran into Paul Heiser's Models, Inc. He makes resin HO scale WW II vehicles, mainly German and American (including a beautiful L4 Grasshopper). He is currently having some Sherman tank models plastic injection molded! He plans to do all the vehicles used in WW II! He also carries all the ROCO vehicles in great quantities, plus the PREMO line of vehicles from Russia. Mr. Heiser said that he had been waiting for a year for PREMO to release their T34 and KV1 models. He seemed a little out of place with all those car and truck guys, so Tim and I suggested that he might find a better audience at Enfiladel

To get a catalog, give Mr. Heiser a call at (562) 860-1362.

We also saw a guy there selling tools, tons of tools, for hobbyists. There was a seminar on air-brushing, and another on resin-casting that was, unfortunately, cancelled. Maybe we gamers should consider attending model railroad shows for our tool and terrain needs.

Editor's note: 1/87th scale gamers might also be interested in Chris Gill Military Toy Specialist. He carries the Roskopf line of vehicles and aircraft,
