Paid Political Announcement

by Ed Teixeria

Well not really, but I am running for office in the HMGS elections this year. My name is Ed Teixeira, (you know, Breakthrough 96 and Breakthrough 96 Part Deux). I am running for the office of Secretary. You know, the thankless, volunteer your time, get yelled at, job. But at least I'll be good at it. What did you say? What does the Secretary do? Well, if I'm elected I will do all the normal duties of. the position plus help keep everybody aware of what is going on and when.

I mean really. Here we go paying money to be in this group, the HMGS, and what do we get from it? Well, you know ... huh, don't you? Me neither.

By now you are probably saying "This guy is running for office? What for and why?" Okay, good points, so let's cover them one at a time:

1 - Yes, I am running for secretary.

2 - What for? Do you know that there are over 200 members in the NHMGS and almost as many if not more "hanger ons" that aren't members but game regularly. These people are out there and they are gaming. But where are they gaming, when are they gaming, and what are they gaming? As Secretary I would contact these gamers and with their permission list their gaming activities. With this information we could connect gamers, interest newcomers, and increase the amount of gaming going on in the Puget Sound area. Wouldn't it be nice to have three or four options to game per month instead of only one (if that)?

3 - Why run for office? Because I have the talent and time to make things work, to help things run smoother, and want to keep people informed. Simple as that. No ego trip, head trip, or hunger for power. That's why I chose Secretary, it's kind of lame anyway, what with no power and all. I mean, you don't even get free dues to HMGS...

Anyway, if you want to be informed with what is going on and do some more gaming also, please vote for me, Ed Teixeira, at Enfilade for Secretary. Thanks.

PS - If you don't vote at Enfilade, things will stay the same as they are. Oh yeah, what DO we get for joining HMGS?
