Traditionally, the end of the club's fiscal year is ENFILADE!. There are typically a few outstanding bills from the convention which have yet to be paid and some members have yet to renew. This is my year-end accounting for the treasury as it stands at the end of May, 1997. The amounts have been rounded to the nearest dollar. STARTING BALANCE: $4,052 EXPENSES(-)
REVENUES(+)
ENDING BALANCE $5,448 The convention expenses include hall rental, guest travel expenses, T-shirts, printing, table rentals, the pre- convention mailer and miscellaneous expenses. Our positive cash flow is a result of continued good attendance at ENFILADE. We had around 250 attendees this year. If just 50 fewer people had attended, we would have taken in less then we spent. We are very nervous on the first day of every convention. It is important to understand that almost all of our expenses need to be paid before we collect admissions and memberships at the convention in May. The auction and pre-registration only cover some of the bills until the day we open the doors. We would like to thank the Best Western Executive Inn for allowing us to pay only a portion of the bill until after we open the doors and collect some money. There is a real "Catch 22" potential for us. We couldn't have a convention if we had to pay up front and we couldn't pay if we didn't have a convention.
