Report To Northwest HMGS Officers


Status Update:

    10 Active HMGS Chapters
    1 Provisional HMGS Chapter - West
    1 Sub-HMGS Chapter - GI Joe
    Approximately 3,100 members nation wide

General Update on Regional HMGS Chapters:

    HMGSIWest - They are in Provisional Status
    HMGSITornado Alley - Elections OK
    HMGSIRocky Mountain - Dissolved as HMGS Chapter. Greg doing local newsletter.
    NHMGS - Negotiated and received the following:
    • Waived past two years dues - Need to pay current years dues.
    • National meeting was moved to NHMGS ENFILADE Convention.
    • Acting National Representative to Board of Directors John W. Fisher, Jr., to assume Chairmanship of the 1998 National Meeting.
    • NHMGS needs to make announcement in it's flyers/newsletters of NBOD meeting at ENFILADE. All other Regional HMGS Chapters will do the same.

General Business:

    By-laws Adapted. Investigating HMGS National Banner for Convention use. Continued efforts discussed to promote HMGS at Origins. Correspondence issue - think before you write. Call Wilbur Gray with problems, and let him try to sort them out. (No more Rick Nance episodes).

New Business (Ideas & Concepts):

  • Determine feasibility of advertising in National Magazines (Military History, Command, etc.) to create new membership and interest in the hobby and HMGS.
  • Regional and National Organization(s) requested to contact locally run PBS/Community Access shows to try and get a special presentation done on organization or advertising for events and who we are.

General Comments:

    Insurance - Remember HMGS offers this feature to all Regional Chapters. Insurance coverage for your convention can be purchase for about $100.00 through the organization. We can turn in a list of conventions for an insurance estimate.
