The NHMGS will be holding it's annual election at ENFILADEL Ballots will be distributed as members are registered at the convention and pay their 1997 dues. Candidates for office must be members. All those interested in running for office should notify The Citadel so that their names may be announced in the next issue. The Citadel will also accept brief political statements. The club elects a President, a Vice President for each of the following Regions; Central, South, North, and East, and a Secretary/Treasurer. The President has the responsibility of organizing and directing the operations of the club. As an example, the president has to find volunteers to plan and run the annual convention or he has to do it himself. The Secretary/Treasurer maintains the membership list and the treasury. A record must be kept of all financial transactions and a yearly report provided to the President. The Vice Presidents represent the interests of members in general geographic regions. They are elected by the members residing in those regions. They should be willing to help out at the convention and find volunteers to do so as well. The Vice President - South represents the members in Oregon and Southwestern Washington. The Vice President - North represents the members in British Columbia and Northwestern Washington. The Vice President East represents the members in Eastern Washington. The Vice President - Central represents the members in the greater Everett, Seattle, and Tacoma area. The officers must be willing to have their names and phone numbers published in The Citadel for members and other interested parties to contact.
