The sixth annual ENFILADE! was held on May 25th and 26th at the Best Western North Sea Inn in Lynnwood, WA. There were 230 paid attendees which when combined with the dealers and quests puts the total convention attendance over 250. This shows an encouraging trend upwards, after last years paid attendance of approximately 195. The special quest this year was Toby Barrett of Thoroughbred Miniatures, who is also a director for the Eastern chapter of the HMGS. There were over 50 miniatures events and the annual Advanced Squad Leader Tournament. A beautiful WW I event using 1/144th scale planes, presented by Dave Schueler, won the prize for Best of Show. The historical periods represented included Ancients, Medieval, several 18th Century Wars, Napoleonics, American Civil War, Franco-Prussian War, American West, Colonial, VWV 1, Spanish Civil War, and VVW 11. The science fiction events included Battletech, spaceships and some futuristic land baffles. Naval battles and air battles continue to be a large interest at ENFILADE! Toby Barrett put on two spectacular ACW Ironclad events with his line of 1/600th scale ships. The painting competition was impressive and in some categories the voting was dose. Congratulations to the winners as well as all entrants. Paint some more entries for next year. Some members also took the opportunity to sell their painted miniatures at auction with a 10% commission to benefit the club. Thanks to sellers and bidders. One problem was the Saturday Night Dinner, which was long on lines and short on food. There was to have been food for 300 but the first 200 in line consumed it! Our apologies to those who got less food or none. We will provide more food next year, if we can afford it, and ask that those in front of the line remember those in back. If you have questions, comments or complaints speak with an officer of the club. We are always looking to improve the convention.
