The second step to completing the overall cartography of our Club Town Project, "Crimsonvale," is going out with this issue. About a year ago, when the first installment of "The History of Crimsonvale" (now available as a reprint for $2 from the Editor) came out with Chain-Mail, Savant Tim Morgereth crafted a wonderful one page Map of the Protectorate and Kingdom (MPK) to go with the history. This was distributed to all members, and has gone out with all "new member packs" since. (Thanks again, Tim, for it!) Now this new, Regional Map of Crimsonvale (RMC) is designed to give each member a larger, general map of the Crimsonvale and Fourth Military District area for use in their current or future games, or for a reference for submissions to the newszine. It includes all direct and indirect submission references which have appeared in this newszine to date, and it will be updated each year. I hope that it will further encourage the membership to try their hand at helping to build the club town and surrounding region, as well as use it in their games, by giving each something tangible and more detailed to work with. The third installment of the cartography plan, the nine page Map of Crimsonvale (MC) is being refined and is planned for distribution with issue #20. Any comments on or suggestions about these efforts are encouraged and welcome! The club Trivia Quiz devised by the President to encourage some club participation and review of some interesting (at least they were for me) facts about our club's early days drew a poor response, even though the instructions stated that you didn't have to complete it all to enter. Thinking perhaps that not enough time had been given to complete it, since issue #18 came out late, I posted cards to everyone with a new November deadline. I hope all will take a moment to dig it out of the pile on their desks, complete as much of it as possible, and send it in. After all, 500 XP is a lot! A member has to write an awesome article or story just to get close to this amount! Certainly you have nothing to lose and much to gain! For those who didn't immediately respond, or do not plan to do so, did you feel that the quiz simply wasn't worth your time? Was it too hard? (Trivia is supposed to be at least marginally difficult!) We've heard from one person, who is no longer a member, about how the EPS hadn't motivated and was of no interest to her. Is this how you feel about the quiz? Write in to the "Club Forum" or the Editor directly... the officers and club members need to know what works and what doesn't so we can help guide the membership toward making improvements! I've proposed a crossword puzzle for the next issue and a reward of 500 XP for getting the most answers correct. Is this something worthwhile to you? Let us know!
