A Lament for the Heroes

Poem

by Frank Young

Oh listen well to my tale of the heroes three,
Wizard, Ranger, and Nature Priest who saved the world from doom.

Said the Clerics of the Enchanted Isle, "many innocents do bleed,
To feed the Abysmal Gate and the maiden must be freed."

With aid from most unusual friends the Gate came to an end,
And safely came the maiden fair happily back home.

To the mountain of fiery breath they went to kill the Drow,
They braved the perils of a fiendish death; Alas, where are they now?

What's the fate of th e Druid Blaise, does he lie in some forgotten tomb?
Or does he dwell in some mystical place? He's Passed Without a Trace.

As for the Wizard Marlinus, he made a fatal mistake,
He died twice by fiery deaths but lies in an icy grave.

Alas the Ranger strong Braern and Amber by name,
He failed to find the Wizard's grave and she was driven insane.

Oh listen well to my tale of the heroes three,
Wizard, Ranger, and Nature Priest; let us remember them well.
