Thanks to all who have been diligently submitting works for publication in Chain-Mail. Your help is greatly appreciated by me and all of the membership. Continuing with the evolution of our club's newszine, this issue I am introducing a few new items. The first is an listing of the membership directory in each issue from here on, where all members' addresses, telephone numbers, membership expiration dates, their club rank, and XP totals will be given. In the past such a list was only available by SASE from the Secretary/ Treasurer, or distributed to new members with their introductory packages. The President, after discussing the matter with me, based on member input he had received to date, thought it would be a good idea and would help to allow free communication among members, plus provide the healthy competition we seek with the new Experience Point System (EPS) - everyone's point totals would be highly visible. The back inside cover seemed like an ideal place to put it, since it is frequently left blank, as is the outside back cover. Thus, I've placed the directory there in this issue: your comments about its format and placement are, of course, welcome! In this issue the final installment of the "History of Crimsonvale" appears. For those of you who do not have the complete work, it will be available as a full page reprint shortly: those of you who have already ordered one, please be patient: I must re-type the whole thing into my new Mac II system, complete the accompanying time-line summary, and distribute them. I have been working to master my drawing software, and with President Jeff Young helping, the two of us have been diligently working on a detailed map of the town of Crimsonvale with an accompanying key, and also a written summary of the town's services, very important personages, general operation, background, and other necessary errata based on the History so that Crimsonvale may be actually utilized in a game system. This should be available to the general membership within the next few months: it will be detailed enough so a member can use it in his game world right away, but will have enough things left unaddressed so that any member can help determine not only what types of places and people stand within its walls, as many have to date, but also how the town operates through submissions to Chain- Mail in future issues. Updates for this map and information would then be sent out along with the newszine as warranted. This should be a helpful tool for those of us who wish to use Crimsonvale and its relatively unexplored surrounding areas for an adventuring basis, be it in D&D, AD&D, or another medieval fantasy RPG system. For those of you who have submitted works but have not yet seen them in the newszine, please don't dispair: all submissions have to be entered into my computer, and it takes time. Furthermore, I've been chosing works from what I have with final number of pages, diversity of content, and maximum representation of the membership in mind. I know that, before the conversion to laser printing, I had told some of you that things would appear in certain issues: I'm sorry, but predicting when a submission will appear is not feasible at this time. I will guarantee, however, that all works submitted will eventually be printed and will get their due!
