Sooner or later you will probably notice the absence of any result of last issue's "Return Fire". It seems lately that more and more responses have been coming in too late to be included in the averaging. So I've decided to wait and report last issue's results in the next issue. So, from now on, each issue will have the results from two issues before. Also next issue we will announce the results of last issue's voting for Best Game of the Year and Best Game of All Time. Normally we hand over the plaques for these awards at Origins or GenCon but we don't plan to attend either convention this year. It's just too far away and takes us away from business too long. At best we usually only sell enough back issues, subscriptions, booklets, etc. to break even on the cost of the trip. But then we're out all the business we lose - mostly wholesale - by not being here for three or four weeks. So, for this year at least, we plan to confine our activities to the West Coast conventions. Hopefully we'll find someone to sell our products for us at Origins and GenCon. I'll let you know who next issue. We hope you'll patronize them. And maybe we'll see you at Northridge or San Mateo. Meanwhile, this issue we have another survey for you subscribers, on the mailing wrapper. Here's your chance to get a new game company off to a good start and influence the kind of games they'll be producing. Please send your response directly to Jack Greene (address provided) not to Lowry Enterprises. That reminds me, incidentally, that I've been meaning to ask you to make out all checks or money orders you send us to Lowry Enterprises, NOT to me personally or to Campaign magazine. (The exception would, of course, be orders responding to my personal ads in the "Want Ads" section.) This saves one step in the routine of making up bank deposits. Every little bit helps.
