The Solo Wargamers Association

The Association intends to advance solo wargaming as a serous alternative to face-to-face games, and intends to supplement the activities of wargamers by offering a choice previously seen as a last resort. Solo gaming is an aspect of the hobby equally as fruitful as competitive play, and many of their members are exclusively soloists, but this does not mean that they are exclusive in any way - they are open to players of all periods and by all methods who are interested in the potential of solo wargaming.

The Association covers all solo figurine wargaming, solo board and simulation gaming and solo fantasy and role-playing; postal play is also undertaken between members. There is no period or age restriction, and all levels of complexity are catered for.

The current membership is about 180, including members in North America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

Membership is by annual subscription currently is £2.50 in the UK, £5.00 or the equivalent overseas. Subscriptions may commence from any time during the year.

Members receive a bi-monthly journal, "Lone Warrior", comprising articles by members and the resident experts on all aspects of solo wargaming and campaigns, readers' letters and comments, postal play contacts and general hobby news.

They also provide an independent umpire service to which members can refer problems or queries encountered in their own game, and a resident panel of experts.
