It's quite possible that the next issue of CAMPAIGN will be in a different format. We are presently considering changing to 8 1/2" x 11" pages, like the "big guys" - S&T, THE GENERAL, etc, This would put more on each page and so cut the number of runs through the press. So don't be surprised if things look a bit different next time. But, on the other hand, don't be surprised if it's still the same. We haven't at the time of writing this, received all the figures on comparative costs, etc. However, whether we change the format or not, be assured there will be no increase in subscription prices. Nor will the amount or quality of articles or columns be reduced. And we will stay on schedule. As you have probably already noticed, we are now carrying all the Avalon Hill games, except their mail-order line. We realize that most of you old hands already have most of these, and that about 3/4 of you are GENERAL subscribers. However, let me point out that when you buy from us there is no postage charge , and we'll be giving discounts on some of them in just about every issue, I hope you will order your A.H. games from us so that we can continue to offer them, It is our desire to offer as extensive a line of games as possible, so as to give you the widest possible range of choices. But if we can't keep the games turning over we can't afford to stock them. Now we come to the averaged ratings of the last issue, and they worked out like this:
issue #72 as a whole 6.91 BAR LEV 6.57 Defending Omaha Beach 6.42 Battle of Breitenfeld 6.38 Solitaire PANZERBLITZ 6.06 French Victory in FRANCE 1940 5.96 Line of Communications 5.96 Wargaming in Britain 5.94 Official Rules Changes 5.91 Mail Call 5.86 Book Review 5.67 G2 Reports 5.49 A Look at the "New" BLITZKRIEG 5.41 More or Better 5.12 THE BATTLE OF FIVE ARMIES 4.87 Miniature Warfare 4.74 The Nazgul 4.48 "Thumbnail Analysis" continues to hold down the top spot and is up from 7.15 last time. The overall rating is also up slightly from 6.86 and is the highest overall rating since #66's 7.13 just one year before. That was the "Yom Kippur War" issue. In general the articles are rated a bit higher this time. More strategy articles and a good history articles helped. And so I would suppose this present issue will be even more popular than the last one. In the voting for best three articles the history article rose above the two strategy articles that had beaten it in the 1-10 ratings to finish like this: Battle of Breitenfeld - Clotfelter $5.00
