I am interested in forming an informal group of wargamers, especially those interested in miniatures, for weekly get-togethers in northern San Diego County. If you're interested, and live in this area, or southern Orange or Riverside counties, write to Don Lowry, at PO Box 896, Fallbrook, CA 92028. Please include some info on yourself: age, experience in miniatures, periods you like, your collection of figures (if any), days you are free for gaming etc. Or, if you already have a group in this area, let me know. I'm 35 and am into the Civil War, fantasy, Napoleonics and WWII so far, but my collection is limited mostly to the first two. Convention season is almost upon us! First, let us remind you of ORIGINS I, the Avalon Hill-sponsored event in Baltimore 25-27 July. This promises to be the largest wargaming get-together yet. Miniatures events in 9mm scale are planned for both the Napoleonic and American Revolution periods and much more. For details write to The Toy Soldier, Searsport ME 04974. Inc. and cannot be responsible for the actions of that office since that date. On October 1, 1974, Mr. Powell resigned his position on the Board of Directors of Spartan International, Inc. and relinquished the rights and responsibilities of that office, On December 1, 1974, James H Griset resigned his position on the Board of Directors of Spartan International, Inc. and relinquished thp rights and responsibilities of that office. After attending the Spartan International Inc. stockholders meeting and seeing that there isn't going to be much co-operation among the stockholders (the voting stock being split exactly in half among conflicting basic ideas) Mr. Griset relinquished his stock to the Corporation, along with its rights and responsibilities, on December 31, 1974. The only thing the stockholders managed to agree upon was that the current Corporation should not fold. Due to recent actions it seems that the current Corporation officers are intending to disregard that desire of the stockholders. Thus, Mr. Powell is currently considering the possible relinquishing of his stock also. Due to this precarious situation as to the future of SII, the Records Officer, Donna Griset, has been unable to continue scheduling tournaments since she does not know if they will be finished. Therefore, the Records Office and SDOA is once again back at the Bellflower address and under the leadership of SII officers. The I.G.A. is continuing with the Win-Loss Records system, and will accept the win-loss records of all players currently in SII tournaments if they will report their win or loss to the I.G.A. by sending a copy of all pertinent information according to PBM regulations. This does not include the pay-offs, delay requests or I.G.A. tournament shares for SII tournaments - only the records. All win-loss records to date are on file. Russell and Donna Powell and James and Donna Griset encourage all gamers to join the I.G.A. and keep the competition system alive. Apparently SII is going to drop it, and we feel that it is something that the true gamer does not want to see religated to the past. Since a separate account is kept for tournaments, all tournament shares are guaranteed to be paid promptly. Clifford McMurray is presently forming a wargaming club in the Wichita, KS area.
