Univ. of Alberta Press, 1994, $?, ISBN 0-88864-253-9, 183 pages, softbound I picked this up from a discount rack for a few dollars on the strength of its title. The period covered a number of internecine and inter-city-state wars. Sadly, the military aspects of these wars receive scant attention. This is primarily a political book, which is helpful for background information. Battles garner a sentence or two, and campaigns get a paragraph--mostly about which cities changed hands and when. Numbers are rarely used. As Boiotian background, this is fantastic. As military history, it merits but a fleeting mention.
