Book Review:

Ghostmaker

It’s hard to argue with a sci-fi paperback for 50 cents, but sure enough, Ghostmaker was priced as such. And as such, that’s what it’s worth.

The audience is 8-12 year old boys who play Games Workshop games. The purple prose grates on the mind as Col. Gaunt leads a ragtag band of Scotsmen across the galaxy fighting to liberate worlds from evil. It’s choppy--you hardly are on planet long enough to land and conquer before it’s off the next one.

Like all GW novels, they’re milled, mauled, and mindless. Sometimes, that’s all you need. At 50 cents, that’s the right price for this second in the series of six.
