Book Review:

Insurrection

By David Weber and Steve White

I enjoy Weber’s books, and also White’s books. So when they team up, it should be great, right? But this is a book from a game (Star Fire), and you know my thoughts on that.

But am I glad I picked this up. It is an excellent collaboration about a space civil war between Earth the Empire and its now rebellious colonies. Think American Revolution here and you won’t be far off.

The battles conceptualized by Weber and White are tremendous, the plot intricate, and the characters shine. Toss in a little strategy, a little romance, and some double-dealing politics and you have a wonderful little novel.

I found my copy in a used bookstore, so it’s hard to find, but well worth it when you do.
