Book Review:

Stark's Command

By John G. Hemry

The sequel to Stark's War continues the officers-are-idiots theme, although it softens when they find 16 captains and lieutenants who are good enough to keep around. Stark is trying to keep the colony independent. Fortunately, the other side has all the officers.

Hemry writes a pretty good battle description--it's just his setting that needs help. In any case, the second American Revolution is underway, even down to the one-third civilians favor independence, one-third want reconciliation, and one-third sitting on the fence.

Give Hemry some credit. He somehow became a published author. But give us readers credit--we don't have to buy his books.
