Dear J.D.

Great - Air Power lives on! Please reenter me for six more issues. Congrats on the Speed of Heats publication. I'll buy it as soon as I payoff my recent Harpoon miniatures acquisitions. Is that talked-about interface with your old publisher's (GDW) game going to occur now? I hope so because it - would be a good thing. Also, there are well done aircraft miniatures in 1:1200 scale available through Preston Hobbies.

This size fits nicely onto a cardboard counter for that added visual appeal of the third dimension. If you are interested, the address is:

Preston Hobby Models
P.O. Box 2280
W -8600 Bamberg Germany

I'm still looking for opponents in southern Connecticut. Hope you can keep things on schedule.

    Take care,
    --Gregory Kuntz, New Haven, CT

Greg, Both Larry Bond and I are too busy at the moment to give much thought to the Harpoon/Air Superiority interface we once talked about. Obviously GDW will not be doing it, so if it occurs it will be here in the pages of AP.

Dear J.D.

Great, you're BACK! Very good flying given the amount of flak you've received lately.

    Sincerely,
    --Lee "Fritz" Chmelsky, Valenci, CA

Dear J.D.

I just received my copy of "The Speed Of Heat". I'm very impressed with everything. I now have to gather up some people and blast some commies! I hope "Over The Reich" turns out as good. Keep up the good work!

    Thanks,
--Scott "Rat Wig" Abbott, Tacoma WA

Dear J.D.

Greetings! Really enjoyed issues 19 & 20. I also purchased "Speed Of Heat!". I'm impressed!! The counters look fantastic but I would like to have more of them. Looks like I will be able to have my fill of "Yankee Air Pirates" bombing the hell out of Route PAK 6. I'll put on Petula Clark's ''Downtown" and see if I can duplicate our "successes." A toast to our Comrades up North!! Thanks again for a FANTASTIC game and magazine.

    Take care,
    --Bob Best, Concord, CA

Dear Mr. Webster

Air Power is great! So good, in fact, that I want all the issues that I couldn't find in my local hobby shop, i.e. one through 14 (another sucker). Any chance in the near future of a scenario in the Caribbean circa 1959-61, so we can get some plane stats for F3H Demons, F4D Skyrays, and F11F Tigers? I saw the Air Power #20 listing of new jets in "The Speed Of Heat" and noticed the above were not there, as well as the Saab J-29 and F-94 Starfire. I figure the best way to get them into the system is to prod (beg?) you to create scenario matchups for them. Maybe the Cold War heats up in the Baltic? Saab versus MiG? A thought also occurred to me. Insofar as you're dealing with the Korean War in "The Speed Of Heat", might you not also want to include prop planes from the Korean era (Corsair, Sea Fury, F-82, A-26 Invader? I realize that our focus is on the jet age, so you may want to blow this off.

    Sincerely,
    --Ross Anderson, West Bloomfield, MI

Ross, You will be happy to note that the jets you requested above are all slated to appear someday in Air Power. Obviously, there wasn't room to put everything I wanted in the new game. The question of when they will appear depends on when I have the time to get to them. Probably around issue 26 is my guess, since my current focus is to get the World War Two game done.

Dear J.D.

My primary purpose in writing is to ask you several questions about the cards that came out in issue #15. First, the weapons Station Diagram is missing from the F-101 Voodoo. The second question concerns the F-8s. What does the MDR stand for in the allowed loads section of the F-8E/J card? Is that the twin-rail "Y" racks that were used on the Crusaders? If so, it should also be included on the F-8C/D card, as the F-8C was the first version to carry the "Y" rails according to Detail and Scale's book on the F-8 Crusader. Also, what is the data for the LAU-33 twin-tube Zuni rocket launchers? I have been itching to get my hands on the Crusader ever since the game came out, and I can't wait to use them on flak-suppression missions in Vietnam. I also have information from Barrett Tillman's book MiG Master that the Crusaders were fitted with a switch that allowed them to select two or four guns for firing. This was especially used for RESCAP in Vietnam. How would that work in the game? Thank you for your help, and good luck with the magazine.

    --Very Sincerely,
    Allen Hartzell, Topeka, KS

Allen, MDR= Missile-Dual Rack and does equate to the "Y" racks on the F-8s. You are correct, the F-8C should also have MDR capability. LAU-33 RP (two Zunis) Wt.= 300, load= 2.0, Hard and Soft attack strengths = 2.0. If firing only two guns, Roll to hit = 5, 3, 1. attack strengths =4/4*.
