Gnats On The Nose!

10 and 13 Sep., 1965 Scenario

Background:

On both of these days, near identical battles occured when four missile armed Sabres met two Gnats head on. In each combat, the Gnats tiny size could not make up forthe numbers of Sabres involved and on each occasion, a Gnat was claimed as shot down. This is a challenging setup for Gnat fans; good luck.

Maps: A

Game Length: 15 game-turns.

Notes:

1. All aircraft are silver and all begin sighted. Both sides have just jettisoned their drop tanks.
2. Aircraft Loads: The Sabres each carry two AIM-9B IRMs and are of the 6-3 wing variety.
3. Weather: Clear, Contrails from 28 to 36.
4. Pilot Quality: Generate from the European table for both sides. Both sides are equal for initiative.
5. Victory: The Sabres must destroy one Gnat and have more points overall. The Gnats need only have more points to win.
