Gnat Sandwiche!

19 September, 1965 Scenario

by J.D. Webster

Background:

Four Gnats and four Mystere IVs were involved in a close support sortie at Chawinda where a major tank battle was underway when they were jumped by four F86 Sabres. The Sabres headed toward the Mystere's failing to see the tiny Gnats. The Gnats took the oppurtunity to slide in behind the Sabres which spotted them only at the last second. A vicious melee ensued between the Sabres and Gnats. Two Sabres were eventually destroyed, one each by the guns of IAF Sqdn. Ldr. Denzil Keeler and Flt. Lt. Vinay Kapila.
