Air Superiority

Rule 7.1). I have been assurning that sustaining a turn with 0 decel cost incurs no additional decel penalty and that sustaining a turn with a decel cost of 1 in high bleed aircraft only incurs 1 rather than 2 decel per additional facing. Is this correct?

You are doing sustained turns wrong. Always pay 1 extra decel per extra facing in sustained turns even if the original cost is zero decel. For high bleed aircraft, always pay 2.

Rule 7. If an aircraft begins a turn, but does not face, carrying turn progress into the next game turn instead, does it get any decel points?

Yes! Decel is received based on the highest turn rate used each game turn whether the aircraft faced or not.

Rule 9. Can VFPs be used to satisfy the movement requirements (FP expenditures) for gun combat and SSGV.

Yes. Aircraft may mix HFPs and VFPs while doing SSGT. Either type of FP satisfies the one FP expended between shots requirement.

Rule 9. When an aircraft is listed as having two or more internal guns, what effect does this have? Do you roll to hit for each separately?

Multiple gun listings are provided purely for historical interest and indicate what the aircraft carries. The roll to hit numbers assume all guns are firing and only one roll is made per cannon attack.

Rule 11. When an aircraft recovers from stalled or departed flight, what is its nose attitude? Are there any restrictions?

You may choose level or diving flight on the game turn of recovery. Climbing flight is not allowed. This is a clarification and is not stated in the original rules text.

Rule 14.G. Are High Pitch Rate aircraft exempt from the last provision of this rule? (Diving flight required on turn after a half-roll maneuver.)

Yes, High Pitch Rate aircraft may go into level flight on the game turn following the turn a vertical dive or hay- roll wl dive maneuver was performed.

Rule 14. Are multiple consecutive lag rolls, one after the other, but in different directions, considered a barrel roll?

Yes, for purposes of increased decel penalties.

Rule 18. Can single-piloted aircraft do radar searches and lock-ons if they also did visual searches earlier in the game turn?

Yes, if not restricted otherwise due to maneuvers perormed, etc.

Rule 18. Can radars search for and/or lock-on to targets sitting on the angle off-line that defines the edge of the radar arc, or are the targets considered to fall out of said arc as when determining deflection in air-to-air gun combat?

An aircraft on the edge of any arc may be detected and locked onto. They do not 'Xall-out" as when determining deflection.

Rule 20. With regard to the "L" found in some of the aircraft's restricted/blind arc listings, does this mean "lower" as defined in rule 16.E, or does it refer to any lower altitude level?

It refers to any altitude level lower than the searcher.
