Editorial

by Richard Partridge

Elsewhere in the magazine, Paul Chamberlain gives his report on this year's Napoleonic Fair. I have to concur with him, this event is growing more impressive each year as it becomes perhaps THE event for period enthusiasts of every type, be they re-enactors, gamers or historians. There was lots to see and buy, even if my plastic was rejected by Old Glory because a cheque hadn't cleared in time! I met a large number of our readers - thanks for the good wishes and the way you are enjoying the magazine.

I am also getting emails from the US now we are on sale there. Goodness knows what the network administrator at Havering Council thinks, but if you are a tax payer in Romford, Hornchurch or Upminster, rest assured I am using your money wisely!

In this issue we are privileged to print the text of Colonel John Elting's thought provoking talk that he gave on 21 February, as well as an article of the Russian Army of 1807 which Digby Smith found time to provide out of his busy writing schedule. To both, many thanks.

Keep the faith.
