Dr. David Chandler

By Richard Partridge

Some of you may be aware that Dr. David Chandler, our Honorary Editor had to go into hospital recently for quite a serious operation. He had to go into intensive care for a few clays, but he is now recovering at home with his family. Dave and I sent him a 'Get Well' card on behalf of the magazine, but I am sure that he will be pleased to know that he has all our best wishes for a speedy and full recovery. (Besides which, he has promised us an interesting series of articles.)

On a more prosaic matter, I have recently been elected a Fellow of the International Napoleonic Society. At the risk of sounding like Lord Dickie Attenborough, I accepted this honour because it shows the high regard in which this magazine is held, and on behalf of the team itself.

I hope that you'll like the "Festive" Eylau article (and who says this mag is thrown together!!). Nothing like a bit of snow for getting you in the mood to have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.
