Editorial

Firstly, my thanks to the hordes of you who wrote in commenting on the general spiffiness of number 21. Several features caused so much excitement that I thought I'd expand on them here.

This issue enlarges upon our rapidly expanding contacts with Napoleonic re-enactment groups outside the UK with an overview of the German units; this is particularly apt as it coincides with the latest publication in the Europa Militaire series from Windrow & Greene (available at all good book shops . . .). Future issues will have more battle write ups and commentaries from around the world.

The piece on the 93rd Highlanders prompted calls from not a few groups looking for publicity and I can now confirm that that double page spread is available to any non UK Napoleonic groups (the NA has its own organ). All we need are some good colour photos, a brief description of the original unit and its history and a short write up about the current unit and contacts.

Interestingly, whilst there were many of you who liked our increase to 8 pages of colour and what we were doing with it, more than enough of you qualified your comments with a desire to see more pages of articles to make us try a little experiment. I know we'd all like more pages AND more colour but we'd need a far larger circulation to be able to cover the extra costs.

So . . . if a normal AGE comprises 40 pages inclusive of 8 pages of colour and this issue has no colour except for the cover but 52 pages . . . what do you prefer?
