Fans of the Sharpe's TV series will be interested to know that this project is going to spawn other Napoleonic films. In a recent issue of the Radio Times, the makers of this series say that they are considering a possible series of two-hour films based on the Hornblower stories by C.S. Forester. These productions will follow the fortunes of Horatio Hornblower as a young midshipman. Casting has not been finalised, but two actors will play the title role, portraying the naval officer through a fictional career that sees him rise to the rank of admiral. Thanks Paul et al for some useful information. When my club heard about the Hornblower series, our diseased minds immediately started on the casting. What you need to remember is that the makers are going to be interested in star names, not who can play the parts according to the book. Our favorite suggestions are that Bob Hoskins will play the older Hornblower, and Morgan Freeman will play Bush, in order to sell the series to the US. Let us know who you think will be lead roles - no prizes other than the opportunity to second guess the professionals.
