Dr. David Chandler

By Richard Partridge

Reaction to the first 'Army Guide' (AoN 18) was overwhelmingly positive. Suggestions for follow-ups have been received, and I understand that drafts are even being written. I think we have decided that the series will be a stand-alone one, so watch this space.

Dr. David Chandler continues to make a steady recovery from his stroke, and thanks the readership for their good wishes. It is therefore a particular pleasure that our Hon. Editor's first article since then should appear in the magazine. I also understand that he has received another award for Campaigns of Napoleon, so congratulations are in order (again!). His mantelpiece must be getting crowded!

Weldenfeld & Nicholson, publishers of 'Campaigns of Napoleon' have kindly given us three copies of the book which have been signed by David Chandler, for you to WIN! Just send a postcard to Age of Napoleon (subscribers may send two). The draw will take place on April 1 st to allow our overseas readers to participate.

Finally, advance notice that Partizan Press have been approached to assist in a Napoleonic research week-end in the autumn. Again, watch this space, or ask the A(-ge)-Team about it at NapFair '96 on 4 February.

Keep on rocking,
