The Napoleonic Association was formed in Britain in 1975 with the aim of encouraging interest in the period 1792-1815. The success of the Association since then has been due to the membership's unique blend of interest and activities covered through re-enactment, wargaming historical rexarch and publications. Whatever your interest in the period, the chances are that you'll find what you are looking for in the NA. With a membership of over 400 there are thriving branches in North America and New Zealand, plus many members in other countries all over the world. With a reputation for accuracy, authenticity and attention to detail, the Association has recreated a number of the regiments that fought in the Napoleonic wars. From April to October members meet about once a month to stage typical skirmishes of the era. Members have presented battle displays in many parts of Britain and the world, the most recent of which was the much publicised re-fight of Waterloo on the actual battlefield. The regiments mostly recruit in the United Kingdom, but also have members worldwide, representing British, French, Prussian, Ausuian and Saxon units. The actual cost of joining a unit can vary from £ 500-800, but also have a stock of equipment which can be loaned to prospective recruits. Several regiments have vacancies for musicians and the NA welcomes female as well as male participants.
