The Johnny Reb Gaming Society

ACW Focus

by Scott and Debi Mingus

Announcing the formation of the Johnny Reb Gaming Society! The annual $10 membership (US) includes a quarterly newsletter which will have original Johnny Reb regimental-level gaming scenarios, Civil War historical articles by various authors and writers, trivia contests for prizes, wargaming tips and strategies, terrain tips, and related information.

If you are interested in joining and receiving the newsletters, please send an e-mail to jrgsnl@aol.com. You will receive your first newsletter in November after receipt of your payment.

Volume 1 will include articles on weapons by Brent Noseworthy, Buford's tactics at Gettysburg by J. D. Petruzzi, an original Johnny Reb 3 scenario for the battle at Shepherdstown, a Gettysburg trivia contest for prizes, a JR3 "cheat sheet" with the 20 most overlooked rules, and other goodies. Also included will be a FREE insert sample scenario in full color excerpted from Enduring Valor: Gettysburg in Miniature as a sampler for this scenario booklet series. Volume 1 should also include an introduction to the JRGS from rules author John Hill.

Future editions will also include JR2 scenarios, even more Civil War articles, battlefield news, photographs, and still more JR3 scenarios.

Again, the newsletter (CHARGE!) is mailed 4 times a year with your membership in the gaming society.

And to repeat, the e-mail address for questions and to express interest is jrgsnl@aol.com. Canadian memberships are $12 and the rest of the world $15 due to higher postage rates to those locations.
