I'm glad to see the rapid expansion of this newsletter! Its going far beyond anything I thought possible when I started it. I can still remember the first two weeks of the newsletter when we had only 5 members, and now we're up to 173! I hope this will only improve the quality of the newsletter. I am happy to announce a deal was struck a week ago between the editor of the Gamers International Newsletter and me. Articles from the GI newsletter will now appear within the virtual pages of this newsletter and the same will happen in the GI Newsletter with the articles that appear in this newsletter. There are also news in this issue that has appeared on the Heritagepac. And now onto this issue of the American Civil War Wargaming Newsletter! First, we have a tribute to an American Civil War author. Dee Brown died at age 94. Next, we have an article about the other Grant, Lemouel Grant who sympathized with the confederate side. Then, we have two articles written by my good friend, James Acerra. The first talks about using legos for wargaming, very interesting. And he follows that with an article about making trees for your wargaming table. Also see his ad talking about his company, Ace's Artwork. And finally, Doug Rogers tells us how to make cheap, flexible, realistic streams. There is a new section called Marc's Hotspots. This is the featured web site of the month. This has a short summary about the web site and the web address. Find it in the newsletter and find out this month's hotspot! There is a position open on the staff right now. That position is web master. The web master will be in charge of creating the HTML format of the newsletter. As one position opens up, another one is filled! I'm proud to announce that Kat Manning is now the poll editor of the newsletter. She will be running at least 1 poll a month. They will hopefully be things that everyone will be interested in and you will have a chance to see other peoples' perspectives on the issues. Also, check out the links section of the newsletter's homepage. I added several links that I hope you will be interested in. Also, there are several polls going on right now, so vote in them and get your voice heard! It only takes a matter of seconds to vote, and the person who created the poll(usually me or acesdugout) will be happy to see the results. Check out the articles database. It has all the articles that has appeared in the American Civil War Wargaming Newsletter. There are also a bunch of articles from Zouave Magazine. It's expanding rapidly, so check it out. You could also contribute an article or two. Next issue will have more news from Heritagepac and some excellent articles sent in by fellow newsletter subscribers. Enjoy!
