Its been nearly 5 months since the last issue of the newsletter has been . This is my fault, mostly. Part of the reason is that my computer went down with a virus in December and I didn't get it back until Mid-January. I lost nearly all the files. However, I should have gotten this edition out a few weeks ago. My apologies.

Now onto to this issue of the newsletter.

In the leadoff spot, I tell everyone about a game I played with a friend from church. We played The Battle of Maryland Heights, the battle which sealed the fate of Harper's Ferry in 1862 when "Stonewall" Jackson was attempting to capture it.

Then, Scott Mingus tells us several tips and techniques for terrain in his 2nd article in his column, The Budget Wargamer. After this excellent article, Dennis Cunningham's work for the newsletter is finally shown. Dennis is the Polls Master of the newsletter and has run 4 polls altogether. The results of these polls may surprise you, thank you Dennis. Then, our marching to the Front Section includes 3 reviews.

One by myself, Marc Shefelton, one by the newsletter's Review Editor, Brad Butturff, and another by Staff Advisor Patrick Roovers. The article I wrote is about K and L Miniatures, who so graciously sent me a large amount of their 20mm Acw figs to review, with some insight by Photographic Editor, Scott Mingus. Brad Butturff not only talks about Thoroughbred Miniatures in his review, but also about several books that will be of interest to the American Civil War Wargamer. In the last article of this issue, Patrick tells us about Redoubt and Renegade Miniatures. That's this issue, I hope you enjoy it. The html version of the newsletter should be up shortly.

With this issue of the newsletter comes a new feature, The American Civil War wargaming Newsletter Discussion Group. This is a group for the discussion of what's in the newsletter, the latest happenings with the newsletter, and ideas on how to improve the newsletter. I hope you join up and enjoy. The address is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/acwwargamingnewsletterdiscuss/

In case you where wondering about who helps me out with publishing this newsletter and what they do, next issue will include an article on the staff of the newsletter and their responsibilities. There are several other articles that you will hopefully enjoy. The next issue should be due out on May 1st and the Mail with a Meaning question for it is, "How do you feel the collapse of I-Kore and the scandal that went with it will affect the hobby?" Please send the letter for this to marcshefelton2000@yahoo.com along with your articles, ideas for articles, comments, suggestions, questions, etc. Remember, we always need article, so never hesitate to send them in.
