2nd Spanish Wargames Club


The meeting was held in Madrid last November 7-8-9, with visitors from Navarra, Santander, Logrono, Almeria and other places.

Madrid's "Dragon" club offered several games among these there was a huge SCW Command Decision battle at the Carrascal of Chimillas (Huesca siege, April 1937), being the last effort to strangle Huesca heights and road by the anarchist Roja y Negra Column - later 127 Mixed Brigade- heavily reinforced by other units from their Division as the "Batallion Paso a la Idea", an international btn. of Italian volunteers, a btn. from the Durruti Column and forces of the Tierra y Libertad Column. At the Nationalist side, deeply entrenched and defending the fortified position of the Mondo Heights, there were several companies of the Valladolid Regiment, and a bunch of Guardias de Asalto from Huesca. Nationalist reinforcements included a Mehala Tabor, and Requete forces as well as some PzI and L3 from the movie Brigade.

The guns, vehicles and figures were from Bandera Miniatures, and some trucks from Ardavin. Buildings, trenches, bunkers and pillbox from Draco, terrain Dragon Club. Scale 20mm. Rules CDII.
