Right now I'm more interested in the fiancee who's willing to go to a game convention. Science has to get moving on this cloning stuff.
Commendable JT, not only the science of it, but also the method of it. As gamers (man or women, but men are specified here) we must set forth first a firm precedence of "SCREENING CRITERIA" at the earliest possible stage. The suitor need be aware that they are being evaluated on their performance in supporting that part of our lifestyle. Now, please note: if the Gamer assumes the role of "suitor" instead of the "suitee" then he might as well trade his Armory Paints for Latex House Paint, because . . . he'll be visiting Home Depot for all the wrong reasons, and much too busy to wargame. This "SCREENING CRITERIA" is what requires them to see war-gaming as an "accepted part of the package" . . . and never allows them to view it as a "temporary evil" which they will "cure you of." Bring aspirant mates to as many events as you can. It makes a great "testing ground." Both get to practice sharing time and attention with numerous others, and demonstrate individual independence levels. Each gets to prove their patience and maturity when not getting 100% of the attention. It's a mutual thing. We all accept being sized up and put on a pedestal, and we all respond in kind. Thus, to be accepted, the potential mate knows they must accept "Wargaming" and embrace it as if they were converting to a religion on the gamer's behalf. They in a sense become "converted." It is when they move a step ahead to "high priestess of the hobby" that you'll know you've gone too far.
