A Cold War....Again?

Convention Report

By Edward Ghelardini

Many perceive wars as brutal and violent conflicts, however if one went to the recent Cold Wars Convention sponsored by the Historical Miniature Gaming Society in Lancaster, PA they might think differently. Cold Wars is a assembly of military historians, war enthusiasts and people who like to have fun.

The United States Military Academy Preparatory School sent 9 Cadet Candidates called The Tactics Group to the event to aid in leadership development. Many of the CCs said that the trip was very educational while fun at the same time. Some of the things they learned while there were the kinds of tactics used in the 19th Century, Mexican War, and Vietnam Era. They also met with prior service members who told stories of their experiences in the military.

Most who went on the trip felt that worth it, since they learned more about the military while having a good time. In the future, The Tactics Group plans to attend PointCon XXI at West Point on the 18th and 19th of April.
