Bushi Wars

Humor

from Rob Geurden

Voice of Howard Cosell:

This is Howard Cosell and we're speaking of sport - battle - in the ancient Japanese tradition of medieval combat. The opponets are arrayed in magnificent splendor, prepared for a days work of intraspacific warfare. The Bushi makes his move.

Watch as he deftly swings his katana blade - a blade imbued with honor and tradition. He's done it, he's caught the Daimio above the neck guard and dashed the head to the ground. He has it in hand and he's running down field... Will - He - Go - All - The - Way!!!! Oh!!! The Bushi is sacked! He's fumbled the Daimio's head... and the opposing Ashigaru has recovered it. Such ignomious defeat, such let down from one of the greats. The bravado of this upstart peasant warrior is sure to shake the very foundations of the war gaming world. Let's break through the crowd and have a few words with him...

... after this brief word from our sponsor: Pokomon Cola.

Yes, Poke Ads Life, but in the Orient, it also brings your dead ancestors back to life. Without Poke's envigorating qualities, Bushi Wars as we know them would not be possible, due the very high casualty rate. Fortunately, poineering work by an Atlanta pharmacist in the late 19th Century, when well mixed with Shintoism, will, infact, bring the dead back to life. Poke.

A proud element of a centuries-old tradition.
