This postcard from the collection of author Brian Vizek illustrates typical clothing of Janissary types and spahis of the 18th Century Ottoman Empire. The cymbol and trombone players wear light blue caftans; the drummer and clarinetist are in scarlet, and the bandmaster wears a rich golden caftan.
