Husaren-Freikompagnie v. Gsehray

Bayern 1743

by S. Richard Black

The uniform plate depicts several troopers from the Frei-korps Hussar Regiment von Gschray, in Bavarian service in 1743. Little is known about this unit and it was probably disbanded at the end of the Second Silesian War in 1745. The troopers wear cornflower-blue coats with orange cuffs and turnbacks. The waistcoat is crimson red, the breeches are buff yellow and the shabraque is cornflower blue edged in white,as is the hat lace. The hat bow is blue and white and the feather plume is white. Print after Richard Knotel.
