8. Eagle Miniatures, c/o Steve Phillips, 4761 Bear Canyon Road, Tucson, AZ 85749 (Phone: 602/749-0703) in the USA or Eagle Miniatures, Wild Acre, Devil's Elbow, Minchinhampton, GLOUCS. GL6 9AJ, UK. Ken Bunger reviewed this line of 25mm figures in the last issue and I just want to add my endorsement to his review. The product line has expanded from 50 to 75 SYW figures since Ken's review and includes 24 Prussian, 16 Austrian, 14 Russian, 13 British, 4 French and 4 Artillery crew. I recently sent off an order for a 30 man battalion of Austrians as well as a 20 man battalion of Prussian musketeers--front rank kneeling firing and rear rank standing firing. I like the samples that I have seen so far, they remind me of the best of the Hinchcliffe SYW line in sculpting style. 9. Elan Enterprises (Willie. Stadden & Tradition 30mm) , PO Box 5101, Hudson, FL 34674-5101 USA. David Clayton advises that he will offer any SYWA member a 10% discount on their purchases of Willie or Tradition figures. He is also investigating the possibility of manufacturing the figures under license in the USA in an effort to bring down the cost, which sell for approximately $2.00 per figure. This is welcome news for anyone who already has these figures in their collection. David is also seeking a figure sculptor to add to the product line. Interested parties should contact him at the above address. 10. H.G. Walls Ltd, c/o Herb Gundt, 3026 Springbrook Drive, South Bend, Indiana 46614, USA (Phone: 219/299-0352). Member Herb Gundt is starting a new business venture constructing custommade terrain and buildings for wargamers, dioramas and museums. Those of you who attended last year's Leuthen Day game may recall the various Iroquois long houses, huts, and other American Colonial buildings that Herb had on display. The quality of the buildings is very high and the prices are reasonable, varying from $25-90.00 for most structures. I am not exagerating when I say that Herb is America's version of Ian Weekley--he is that good. I recently commissioned Herb to construct a dozen Spanish buildings to use in my Napoleonic Peninsular War scenarios. He did an outstanding job of conceptualizing what I wanted based on some basic sketches and conversations that I had with him. I received all that I wanted and more in the way of details, fit, and finish. Write or call Herb Gundt if you are interested in adding attractive buildings to your layout at reasonable prices. 11. Dean West reports that "I have been working on a set of 18th Century rules based on the Johnny Reb game system, and named the FINAL ARGUEMENT OF KINGS. I think that you have seen me playtesting said rules at recent conventions. ...I believe that the French army of this period has received an unwarranted "bad rap" and my mission (in future articles) will be to set the record straight by giving an alternative view to counter the "cult of Frederick" and more to the point, the "cult of English superiority in all human endeavor." Let us remember that the French began the SYW by thrashing the Duke of Cumberland's Hanoverian Army at Hastenbeck and then forcing them to lay down their arms at Kloster Zevern." (EDITOR--Dean, you poor demented lad; what can I say other than, well ...,yes the English are superior in all human endeavor and it is a proven fact that the civilized world ends at Land's End, Dover and John O'Groats) Back to Seven Years War Asso.
