1. George Nafziger, PO Box 1522, West Chester, OH 45069-1522 has provided me with the most exciting news! He informs me that he has just finished translating the Lucien Mouillard uniform book on the regiments of France under Louis XV. This book will contain 120 pages of text and 57 pages of Mouillard's beautiful uniform plates in full color. This book will be available as a perfect bound paperback for around $50.00. The advanced copy I received is beautiful and will be reviewed in the next issue of the Journal.

2. My translating efforts are continuing. Forthcoming books from "Seven Years War Books" will include Hastenbeck Part II, consisting of first-hand accounts of the first pitched battle between the French and the Hanoverians in the Seven Years War (See my ad for Part I) as well as a French history of the War of the Austrian Succession (just completed) and a first-hand French account of the war in Italy during the War of the Polish Succession.

3. Brent Nosworthy of Anatomy of Victory fame is now producing a series of primary source material on 18th Century military tactics. I have been fortunate enough to receive two of them. One is entitled Excerpts From the British Military Library on Practical Tactics, Vol. I & II., originally published in London between 1799 and 1801. The other is New Regulations for the Prussian Infantry, originally published in London in 1757. Both are perfect-bound paperbacks. The one on the British tactics is 60 pages in length and the one on Prussian tactics is 72 pages long. Both of these feature fine black and white illustrations. For those military technocrats trying to get a grasp on how these military formations deployed and fought during the time periods in question, these books are a must. It is my understanding that they are available through On Military Matters and other finer book stores.

4. Speaking of which, the next issue will feature an extended article by Brent on the evolution of tactics from the War of the Spanish Succession through the early Napoleonic period and its repercussions on wargaming.
