Change of Website

Review and Outlook

by James J. Mitchell

Change of Website

Through a series of developments too tedious to bore you all with, I have been forced to purchase a new domain name for the Seven Years War Association Website. Many of you have wondered what happened to my site. By the time that you receive this issue, the site should be up and running and the new URL will be www.sevenyearswarassociation.com. I regret the inconvenience, but I was unable to renew the old domain name in time and it was bought up by some extortionist who has turned it into a link to a pornographic site! I have ownership of the new domain name for the next five years and hope to avoid further such embarrassment. My intention is to add new material to this site as time goes by.

Upcoming Nuptials

I am pleased to announce that I will be getting married on August 9m to the lady of my dreams. Her name is Susan Zubek and, like myself, has never been married before. I look forward to this new development. Fear not, dear readers, as I intend to continue in my journalistic and publishing efforts. Susan Supports me in this and thinks that the Journal is a terrific thing. She has been very good for me for the six years that I have known her.

Concerning This Issue

I am quite pleased to have another of Mike Edmondson's stimulating articles - this time on Seven Years War Artilleries. I must here not that Mike had wished that his numerous footnotes be rendered as endnotes so as not to be a distraction in the midst of the main text of his article. Here I must plead either my own ignorance or else a limitation in my software, as Microsoft Word seemed to want to place his endnotes clear at the end of the Journal rather than at the end of his article. Thus they now appear as normal footnotes.

I'm also delighted to include some more in Neil Cogswell's Horace St. Paul series, as well as a biography of Friedrich Wilhelm von Seydlitz, Frederick the Great's ace cavalry commander. In addition I have a few reviews of wargaming items to top off the list.

All the Best
